Job Description

A Sign Language Interpreter is needed for the 2025-2026 school year to support a 2nd grade student in an elementary school setting. This contract position runs from August 5, 2025, through May 29, 2026, offering a consistent schedule Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ASL-based interpreting services to facilitate communication between the student and educational staff
• Support classroom instruction and participation through accurate and effective interpretation
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure effective communication access
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Qualifications and Experience:

• Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with an emphasis on educational settings
• Minimum of 4.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
• Experience interpreting for elementary-aged students preferred
• Ability to work Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 2:30pm, and Friday from 8:00am to 1:30pm
• Flexibility to work up to 30 hours per week to maintain full-time status
