Job Description

Dispatcher – $24/hr | Full Time | Richmond, CA

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 AM–8:00 PM

Pay: $24/hr

We are looking for an experienced and detail‑oriented Dispatcher to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring drivers are properly prepared for their routes and that daily operations run smoothly. Position Overview

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating drivers, managing route readiness, maintaining key operational records, and providing ongoing support throughout the workday. This role requires someone who can multitask effectively, respond quickly to issues, and maintain accuracy in all documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch drivers and helpers promptly and efficiently

  • Maintain daily records for payroll and operational reporting

  • Collect and track all materials issued to drivers (gas cards, fobs, keys, radios)

  • Manage hand truck inventory and update tracking spreadsheets

  • Maintain and update EZ-Pass accounts

  • Respond to emails within a timely manner and resolve issues as they arise

  • Complete thorough hand‑off logs at the end of each shift

  • Charge and maintain all company phones

  • Monitor GeoTab alerts and address driver‑related notifications

  • Update routers with delivery windows and resolve routing issues

  • Review emails for updates or route changes before dispatch

  • Answer phone inquiries promptly

  • Monitor MobileCast to ensure proper device usage

  • Complete daily activity sheets and Wufoo reports

  • Update pickup sheets at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM with accurate purchasing information

  • Send email updates on route delays or other issues

  • Update invoice register in AS400

  • Follow up on all scheduled pickups to prevent service failures

  • Support drivers with directions, roadside assistance, and accident procedures

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of dispatch experience , preferably in transportation or logistics

  • Strong computer proficiency, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong attention to detail and organization

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Bilingual Spanish a plus

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
