App State Athletics is seeking a motivated, passionate, and service-oriented individual to become the Assistant or Associate Athletic Director for Marketing. This position reports directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Revenue Generation. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned intercollegiate athletics professional with a comprehensive understanding of collegiate marketing operations, as well as campus and department policies and procedures. Responsibilities include planning, administering, and coordinating the daily operations of complex marketing programs. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all marketing and promotional campaigns, brand development, and game entertainment for the athletics programs, supporting the mission of the App State Athletics Department. Manage marketing, budgeting, promotions, sales, and brand exposure for football and basketball; supervise marketing initiatives for other sports. Serve as the primary marketing contact for Sports Productions, Multi-Media Rights partner, Game Operations, Mountaineers Athletic Fund, and Strategic Communications. Coordinate with senior administration and the ticket office to develop ticket strategies and campaigns to meet financial goals. Design and distribute promotional materials, optimizing the use of the Paciolan ticketing system and CRM database, including PACMail, mobile ticketing, and partner platforms. Implement grassroots marketing and develop digital media advertising strategies to maximize ROI and foster data-driven decision-making. Create innovative methods to engage new fans and retain existing ones through ticket sales and Mountaineers Athletics Club memberships. Build on-campus relationships to increase attendance among students, faculty, and staff. Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience for all patrons. Act as the athletic department liaison to the App State Marching Band. Perform additional duties as required, including assisting with non-athletics events as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with coursework in sports management, business administration, or a related field. Other degrees considered with relevant experience. At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a collegiate athletics department. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, with a commitment to compliance. Experience in sports marketing and working within an athletics department. Customer service and management experience.
