Job Description

Sign Language Interpreter opportunity available for the upcoming school year in Elgin, IL, serving K-12 students under a contract term from August 4, 2025, to June 6, 2026. This position requires in-person presence and offers a schedule of approximately 32.5 to 35 hours per week, aligned with the school calendar.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation to support student communication and academic engagement.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate effective communication within the classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in all interactions.
• Adapt interpretation style to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Qualifications:

• Must have ISBE Approval as a Sign Language Interpreter.
• Candidates with a 3.0 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score or higher may qualify for temporary approval.
• Experience working with K-12 students preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in an educational setting.
• Reliable and punctual with a commitment to maintaining in-person attendance.
