Job Description

Job Summary

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily airport operations or a segment of the operation. The role requires a passion for ensuring safe, reliable, efficient, and effective operational and financial performance of the station.

Responsibilities

  • Build partnerships with customers and exemplify exceptional customer service.
  • Review operational and financial reports to meet goals and take corrective actions.
  • Participate in employee relations investigations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff, promoting team-building initiatives.
  • Ensure proper training and safety record audits.
  • Set, monitor, and manage performance to achieve operational and financial objectives.
  • Enforce safe working conditions and comply with regulatory requirements, policies, and laws.
  • Promote policies on Safety, Anti-Harassment, and Equal Employment Opportunity.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Ability to obtain necessary airport, state, or customs credentials.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Four years of relevant experience in aviation or ground handling services.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently push, pull, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, lift up to 70 lbs, and move up to 70 lbs; constantly walk, stand, handle, grasp, and reach. May occasionally reach above shoulder.

Working Conditions

  • Flexible shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime in a shift bid environment.
  • Alertness to moving vehicles and aircraft; use of radio equipment.
  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, fumes, dirt, and dust.
